Big Al derives his inspiration for this trip from the pledges he has taken and is taking from his supporters, which he is going to donate to his favorite three charities, in tribute to his late parents and many friends who are suffering from the diseases that these non-profit organiza- tions labor to rectify: |

During his trip planning, Big Al had estimated that he would be pedaling 3,200 miles. In fact, he rode 3,773 miles, 118% of his plan. Therefore, 1-cent-per-mile pledges are now $37.73, and 2-cent-per-mile pledges are $75.46. Pledges for amounts greater than or less than these easy-to-remember pledge amounts are very welcome and encouraged!
